Katherine Windsor
Credentials: Ph.D.
Katherine (Traynor) Windsor received her B.S. in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. As an undergraduate, she investigated the kinetics of reactive intermediates such as the cyclopropylcarbinyl cation in the lab of Dr. Xavier Creary. During summer internships, she researched waste disposal of highly-enriched uranium at Argonne-West in Idaho and worked on a chemoenzymatic synthesis at Pfizer, Inc. in Groton, CT. She explored the mechanism of formation of HC5H dimers and their subsequent Bergman cycloaromatization. Aside from successfully completing her Ph.D., Katherine’s ultimate goal is to sample every flavor of creamery ice cream.
